Places of Interest in Downtown Cebu

Downtown area in every city is considered very important as it is the hub of all, right from business to big industries and major tourist attractions etc. Alike other cities, the downtown area of Cebu is also a major tourist attraction offering something for everyone. There are many wonderful sites to see and visit like - Carbon Market, Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino, Casa Gorordo, Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, Colon Street, Fort San Pedro, Heritage of Cebu Monument, Magellan's Cross, Parian District and Plaza Independencia etc.

Colon Street - this is the oldest street in the whole of Philippines that was built in 1565 by explorer Miguel Lopez de Legazpi. This still has the building facades to historic markers of 1920s which holds its old day's charm.

Carbon Market - the other major attraction with in the downtown of the city is Carbon Market. This has adopted its name after the coal depository of the Cebu railroad. This typical Philippine market is famous for offering various items right from food stuff to handicraft.
